For The Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

This week a huge jump in life expectancy for NYC, chewing affects nutrient absorption and the chemicals in cosmetics.

Want to see all my favorite links? (There’s lots more). Be sure to follow me on on Delicious. I also share links on Twitter @summertomato,  Google+ and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you. (And yes, I took that pepper heart pic myself)

i’m all about the avoidance of cosmetics / perfumes (scents).
no one knows. and they don’t have to tell us.
“what are the toxicology results in animal testing with this product?”
“none of your business. just buy it and wear it. it won’t hurt you because it covers that skin condition that you’re so concerned about and everyone knows if it smells pretty it can’t be bad for you. cigarettes stink and they’re bad for you. this perfume smells nice so it must be ok. we’re a multi-national corporation. we wouldn’t sell you something that might be bad for you. nor would we lie to you about that.”
there’s not a doubt in my mind avon killed my aunt with cancer. i think there’s a high probability if we did know we would see that there are a lot more cancers due to cosmetics and perfumes than anyone would have guessed.

Thanks Darya for the great information.

I keep trying to turn people onto the videos by Dr Lustig. I think they are life changing. It really helped me to finally get off of sodas.
