    This is a great list!
    I just got inspired by an interview I heard on the Leonard Lopate show podcast with the writers of a new cookbook, Scraps: Wilts & Weeds…
    It was great to hear different ideas of what to do with juice pulp, black bananas, fish bones, lots of foods people tend to throw out.

    WRT the fasting recommendations in the Washington Post article – it recommends “science based” fasting. Do you have any recommended reading for that.

    Whole Foods is struggling, in my city at least, because they remodeled their store to massively expand their prepared foods section, which they made space for by cutting their selection on so many items that it ceases to be a one-stop-shop for me. The bummer is that their prepared foods are basically just artfully assembled Cisco products–the quality is terrible. It’s a shame, and it bums me out as well, but they brought it on themselves.

    Hi, Darya!

    Thanks for the Atlantic article on true emulsion. Does this change the way you think about consuming smoothies as a treat? How often do you treat yourself to a smoothie?

      I’ve never been a fan of smoothies, because most of the ones available in my area are primarily made with fruit (and often protein powder––bleh) and are way too sweet for me. I still have a green juice (with a hint of fruit) maybe 1-2x/month. You have to figure out for yourself what is worth it for you.

    I think the article linked on Smoothies is very convincing. Just like water before food keeps our stomach full but for few minutes, a smoothie can keep it full for hours and more over it is healthy like a horse.
