For the Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

This week skinny people don’t diet, healthy eating is cheaper than junk food, and Starbucks is worse than 6 donuts. I included a couple of extra ones, because they were just too good to leave out.

Too busy to read them all? Try this awesome free speed reading app I just discovered to read at 300+ wpm. So neat!

I want to eat liver! I love pâté and order it when I go out to restaurants where I know they make it well. I find it almost impossible to find a butcher who sells liver, however. Maybe I’m not looking hard enough? Even my all-organic East Village butcher doesn’t carry it. Thoughts on how to find the hard-to-find stuff?

Have you just looked in the case or asked them? In my experience good butchers can get you almost anything.

I did ask. They said they usually don’t keep the livers (from their chickens) because it doesn’t sell fast enough. But I’ll keep asking around and try some other butchers, too. Thanks for your help and encouragement, as always, Darya. x

Great Work! This week I was inspired by my new holiday plans in June this year. Got to look good in that bikini !

  3. Loved the links, was especially thankful for the Vegetable Biryani. Indian food always is a nice treat and this was a great dish to make and enjoy.
