For The Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

In case you missed it, here’s the archive of my appearance on Dead to the World with David Gans (KPFA radio) from Wednesday night. One of my longest discussions of Foodist to date. It will only be available until May 29:

UPDATE: Here’s a more permanent version if you want to listen after the KPFA archive expires.

This week around the interwebz the salt police take a blow, chili peppers reduce Parkinson’s risk, and why sunshine is important for more than just vitamin D.

I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you. (And yes, I took that pepper heart pic myself).

I really enjoyed the discussion you had with David Gans. I think it would be “awesome” if you could do a similar segment on an east coast public radio station. I’m in the NY market and Leonard Lopate is doing a food segment every Friday. Your material would fit in perfectly as he has been covering all aspects of food from taste to health.I hope its possible to see the message spread.

I’d be happy to chat with him. Do you have a contact there?

I have no connection with the channel just an avid listener, but it is WNYC in New York City, channels 93.9FM and 820am. You can check it out on Tunein Radio. His show is at noon to 2pm weekdays (eastern time) and is avaiable as a podcast. The email for his show is lopateshow@wnyc.org and he is @leonardlopate on Twitter and he has a facebook page in his name. I dont know what it takes to get on his show, but he has well known celebraties as well as unknowns so I hope this helps.
