For The Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

This week learn why we were better off with quarter pounders, butter is better than “buttery,” and frankenfish are the next Monsanto.

Want to see all my favorite links? Be sure to follow me on on Delicious. I also share links on Twitter @summertomatoGoogle+ and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you. (And yes, I took that pepper heart pic myself).

Freekeh is fantastic stuff. Here are my favorite things I’ve done with it: spring vegetable soup with corn, and a ‘curry’ variation that might just be better than the original. The freekeh and corn combo builds a rich flavor base with umami and sweet that you can pay a lot of different ways.

I always post these when they’re out… Latest DrG vol9 is out http://tinyurl.com/drgvol9 (autoplays) and at 50min talks about: sweet vs purple potato, leaky gut, endotoxin, IBS
