If you only read one thing today make it Tom Venuto’s article about The Biggest Loser. The first time I saw the show I was inspired and loved it, but as the years progress it is clear it is not helping any of the “losers.” The Biggest Loser teaches people that weight loss is about torture and extremes, and they are destined to fail. I was going to write an article about it, but Tom does such a good job explaining my reasons I no longer feel the need to.
But, of course, there are 10 great articles down there worth checking out!

What are you reading?
The Biggest Loser is a really entertaining show, which gives hope to those who want to lose weight. But yeah, it gives the wrong impression that working out means puking your guts out because of exhaustion. Exercise can start out gradually, the intensity being increased as you get comfortable with your pace.
I wonder how long that hope lasts though. Can you imagine what it must be like to work harder than you have for anything, achieve momentary success then have it all unravel again? If it were me I think that would be the last time I would ever try to lose weight in my life and then I’d give up and assume it was impossible. No hope 🙁
