  1. this is in response to your “diet history” post, but i was wondering what you did in order to keep yourself from “bulking up” as your are working out?

    • Darya Pino says:

It’s really hard for girls to bulk up since they don’t have testosterone. The only way I ever get bulky is if I’m working out a lot and over eating. Just eating normally and lifting (with a little cardio, not too much) is ideal.

    Darya,
Loved the show! I was really interested to hear about weight loss for those of us who are hypothyroid. Also have some overweight friends who take medications that cause weight gain.
I eat a very healthy gluten free diet, exercise some, but not enough I am sure. I gained 40 pounds in one month when my thyroid decided to stop doing its job. I am still 30 pounds overweight after three years, and can’t seem to lose the weight even though medication for my thyroid has my numbers in the normal range. I don’t feel comfortable eating less than I am eating now. Do you have any tips for those of us who are overweight for other reasons than eating an unhealthy diet?
