Foodist is finally released into the wild.

Every word I’ve ever written here at Summer Tomato has led up to this book. It’s what people have been asking for since I first started writing, a step-by-step guide to losing weight without the pain and suffering that comes with dieting.

Foodist is about more than what to eat and what not to eat. It’ll teach you why it’s not only OK to embrace the foods you love, but why enjoying what you eat is absolutely necessary for success. It provides you all the tools, tips and knowledge you need to start making changes in your healthstyle today, and how to ensure that the efforts you put in now will last a lifetime.

After reading Foodist, you’ll never need to diet again.

Spread the Word, Get Some Love

Since Foodist is my first book, media attention has been limited. That means I need your help getting the word out.

If you have a blog, Facebook account, Twitter account or even a few friends or family members you think may be interested, please consider mentioning Foodist. Drop a comment below with a link or tweet at me (@summertomato) and I’ll happily retweet your post.

If you are near a bookstore, please go in and buy a copy or ten. For some reason bookstore sales count more than online sales. Lame, I know, but bookstores are still nice places to spend time and I don’t mind supporting them. If the store doesn’t carry Foodist or doesn’t have many copies, please ask them to order more.

If you have a few more seconds to spare, please head over to Amazon and leave a review. These reviews are incredibly helpful for people considering buying the book.

INSTAGRAM COMPETITION: If you have an Instagram account you can enter to win a personalized signed copy of Foodist directly from me. Take a fun picture with your hardcover copy and post it using the hashtag #foodist on Instagram between now and May 14. Two winners will be selected.

Thank you for time and support and for helping spread the word that there’s more to life than dieting. Your support means the world to me.

Cool thing! I guess it’s also interesting if I don’t want to loose weight but just want to eat healthier?

    • Darya Rose says:

Absolutely. It’s about health. The fact that most people need to lose weight to be healthier, and that weight loss is a sexier topic, means that’s how it needs to be marketed. But if your goal is simply to eat better, you’ll get just as much from it as someone who wants to lose weight.

perfect, bought it 🙂 i really like your website so i’m really happy your book is out now

  2. Dama Sarah says:

Congrats! I plan on getting my book 🙂 I’ll troll the bookstores in the city (I too live in SF) and proudly buy my copy.

Maybe something like this is already in the works, but if I may: in terms of publicity, have you thought about partnering with CUESA and doing a heathful/summer-tomato-y type workshop & reading event? You both have values that line-up very well.

    Good luck!

  3. Tracey says:

Just ordered my copy! Looking forward to reading and then spreading the word!

  4. Hannah says:

I just posted a Foodist giveaway at my blog! http://bit.ly/YsEHaB 😀 Now back to reading 🙂 Absolutely loving this book!

  5. Lyn says:

    Hi Darya

Congrats on the book. I pre-ordered a while ago and am just wondering when I can expect delivery to Australia as I can’t wait to read it.

  6. Debra says:

LOVE the book! Just got it today and have already finished it. Love the website as well & congrats on the marriage. No pressure but already looking forward to the next book. 🙂

  7. Linda says:

I just discovered your blog through Jamie Oliver’s Instagram. I am one of those people that rarely ever comments on anything but I must tell you I love your philosophy on food and not dieting! It’s what I’ve been trying to tell my friends for years! I was living in Paris for the last year and a half and I have never said no to a patisserie but still managed to maintain my weight (if not lose some), so I hope people believe your comment in the interview about eating baguettes everyday haha. Congrats on the book! Looking forward to hearing more from you.

  8. Cathy says:

Got my 10 copies today. Can’t wait to spread the Foodist healthstyle to friends. Thank you for writing this book, and congratulations!

  9. Tim M says:

Great read so far! I find myself excited about food again just because of how excited you are about it! Also, the physical book itself is gorgeous. Im very glad I bought a hard copy instead of the ebook.

  10. Joe says:

    Going to get one, thanks!

  11. Jason says:

I love your blog! I heard about you through the Tasting Table daily email, and found the blog after reading about your book. I can’t wait to read the book as well. I added your blog and your book to my links page on my blog as well (http://eatsforallages.com/links/)

Like you, I try to focus on eating things that taste great and being healthy in the process (with a focus on getting kids into healthy and diverse eating habits, as well).

I will definitely be a regular reader of your blog from now on!

  12. Jacqueline Nehama says:

Thank you for the blog and your book. Although I am reading it electronically, I have bought 3 copies to give to friends. Do you have a schedule for appearances and book signings? Thanks again.

  13. Mike says:

Darya this looks like a great book with a lot of great information about eating healthy. It all starts with good health and goes from there. If you don’t have good health you have nothing. Good luck to you with your book and your blog.
