So Darya, what are you most excited about from this week’s trip to the market?
Anon, thanks for asking!!I must say the first crop of the early girl tomatoes is pretty exciting. I only bought a few this time (to test the sweetness) but they are fabulous and I may roast a bunch for a soup next week. The morels are beautiful beyond belief, so I bought them out of moral (no pun intended) obligation to deliciousness. The Israeli melon smells strongly like passion fruit!! What is this crazy thing? I can’t wait to break it open. The red peppers smell fantastic as well. I’d be willing to wager that the smell alone would convert some people to pepper lovers. This is the first week for these guys too, so this is also very exciting.Leaving the rest out is unjust, but most of them I had last week so they are very slightly less exciting (but that’s not really true–I just love these foods!)
nectaplums? awesome. go science!-Lizzie
Yo DP, have you ever been to the FM on Alemany Blvd? I’ve heard great things, but haven’t made it out there.-Lizzie
lizzie:yes, the nectaplums were surprisingly good or i wouldn’t have bought one. agiscience rocks!!as for alameny, i have heard good things too. but i’ve also heard it’s less organic and smaller, so my heart of hearts prevents me from going because i’m afraid to miss out on what i know i love. also, alameny doesn’t have easy public transport access. however, i have recently abandoned bart and am willing to trek there. whacha doin next saturday? we could hit it….
Whoa you abandoned BART? You were always the biggest BART-lover I knew. I can drive to Alemany! Vroom vroom vroom!
