For the Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup. It’s been a few weeks so I went ahead and included 15 excellent articles instead of the usual 10.

This week pilates changes your brain, all your food is fake, and the big problem with people pleasing.

Too busy to read them all? Try this awesome free speed reading app to read at 300+ wpm. So neat!

I also share links on Twitter @summertomato and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you.

Darya! I am SO glad that you’ve resumed posting! I look forward to your “For the Love of Food” posts each week – always interesting articles to read. Thank you very much for your hard work in bringing these to us.

Sure, it isn’t impossible to eat fairly well and exercise regularly. And thank you, summertomato for encouraging us in that endeavor and digging into the psychology that often holds us back. Your work is awesome!

But to say nutrition is not confusing…I have to disagree. I’m a fit, healthy, 34 year old woman and I am regularly confused. Gluten free? Sugar free? Vegetarian? Help!

Even in this great round up of articles I find myself confused about how to buy fish and feeling weirdly bad about parmesean cheese.

I like the positive attitude and outlook–do your best, eat your veges and fruits, walk and run and swim, have friends and companions, be well, enjoy food & your life.

But US food labels are utterly bizarre, and the food system seems intentionally obscure and obtuse and yea, sometimes it is hard.

I love these posts Darya, I am interested in nutrition and have a science background so often when I read lifestyle articles about diet I can smell the BS from a mile off. However I think it’s fab that you pull together such a range of interesting new research, add your own personal opinion and then open up the floor for anyone else to add their two cents. I have not come across blog posts like this online before and I think they’re fab 🙂 thank you x
