For the Love of Food
Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.
This week trans fats get their comeuppance, Whole Foods makes a bold move on food labels, and the newest way to neglect your children.
Too busy to read them all? Try this awesome free speed reading app I just discovered to read at 300+ wpm. So neat!
Want to see all my favorite links? (There’s lots more). Be sure to follow me on Delicious. I also share links on Twitter @summertomato and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you.

What inspired you this week?
As a dietitian-in-training, I am ecstatic about the trans-fat ban, but the impact it may have on the environment is awful.

We need to be vigilant about knowing what is in our food, where it’s coming from, and what impact our choices have on the world. It’s definitely a step in the right direction for health, though!
I really loved and needed the article about giving up 🙂 It gave me a whole new perspective
Also, loving the speed reading app!! I use it for work related articles!!
HA, “I’m always a little shocked when the FDA steps up and does something right.” Sad but true. When I heard this, I had to Google it and confirm for myself that this was accurate. I’m somewhat surprised that it’s taken this long, since the FDA required transfat to be labeled since 2006. Well it’s progress, right? I love your links of the week. I will be definitely be checking back in the future for more of your updates. Cheers!
Great list as always Darya! Perfect info for all health nerds out there like me.
Great list of things to read. This will keep me busy on my weekend coffee chill day.
