For The Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

This week the mirror makes you overeat, a huge supplement scandal, and the birth of “science milk”… mmmm.

Too busy to read them all? Try this awesome free speed reading app I just discovered to read at 300+ wpm. So neat!

Want to see all my favorite links? (There’s lots more). Be sure to follow me on on Delicious. I also share links on Twitter @summertomato and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you. (Yes, I took that picture of the pepper heart myself.)

  1. The last line of the “Appearance-Driven Diet” article is just maddening.

If it turns out that the study can be further substantiated it begins to suggest that outside elements in our environment other than food affects our eating habits.

It “might begin to suggest” that? Because no one has ever suggested before that eating habits might be about more than just food? And this is the director of the Center for Eating Disorders at Columbia University. Does she really not know this already?

  2. Nicole B. says:

The roasted radish recipe uses your basic salad radish. You know think this would work just as well with larger varieties, like scarlet or watermelon?

    • Lara says:

It’s worked for me with larger varieties of radishes. It’s also one of the ways that I use radishes from my garden that I’ve waited too long to pick and are a bit too woody to eat raw.

  3. Dee says:

Great selection of articles this week. Thanks!
