For The Love of Food

Welcome to Friday’s For The Love of Food, Summer Tomato’s weekly link roundup.

We have some fabulous reading this week including a dose of reality for the cavepeople in the room, some scary news about the effect of pollution on birth defects, and a TV commercial that makes me want to ride my bike to France.

Want to see all my favorite links? Be sure to follow me on on Digg. I also share links on Twitter (@summertomato), Google+ and the Summer Tomato Facebook page. I’m very active on all these sites and would love to connect with you.

  1. FWIW, couldn’t agree more about the auto-play on the QDT site!!

  2. Actually, I’m told (in response to my latest complaint) that the auto-play feature may be turned off by as early as next week!! Here’s hoping.

I like the idea of bicycling France, I’m planning a ride to Santiago de Compostela, this is a traditional pilgrim route from the middle ages starting in The french Pirinees (french Basque region) to the mystical Santiago in Spain, if you want to join…

Thanks for the link love! I’m so excited for you—I hope you love Japan as much as I do!

  5. Thanks for posting the article on active commuting. I just started a run-BART commute from my home in Oakland (or sometimes my bf’s place in Berkeley) to my office in Walnut Creek. I go to the office three times a week, and my goal is to do the run-BART commute all three days, with maybe an exceptions once a month or so. If I keep it up, it will be 18.6-28.8 miles of running a week without any actual “workouts.”
