To be able to get this kind of produce at this time if year is just fantastic. We still have some cherry tomatoes, but the weather is so cool they aren't ripening, or tasting, very good. I've been meaning to check out some of the Farmers Markets to the east. I agree wholeheartedly about the allium fam, yum. Can't live without shallots, and I adore leeks, too. I haven't been to the Grand Lake Farmers Market before but it looks awesome. Especially the carrots! I couldn't find any last week at the Ferry Building. If I'm ever in that part of the East Bay on a Saturday morning.... Unfortunately, I was also busy yesterday and wasn't able to go to the Ferry Building (boo) so instead I'm going to the Divisadero Farmers Market for the first time today (yay!).
